Levi here, and I'm excited to share the highlights from our panel discussion on the power of social media in real estate at the annual Shareholders meeting. I had the privilege of joining a dynamic conversation with some of the industry's top social media influencers: Ricky Carruth, GoGo Bethke, and Amy Gregory. We get right into it and discuss strategies for growing our social media platforms and offer insights into how we plan to navigate the ever-changing real estate landscape in the coming year.
I want to share just some of the tips that we discussed on this panel so that you can implement them in your own business, and watch your business skyrocket.
We unanimously agreed that authenticity is the cornerstone of their social media success. Go Go, known for her Instagram presence, stressed the importance of documenting her journey and staying true to herself. "Documenting the process and being authentic" is her go-to strategy. It's this transparency that resonates with her audience, helping her forge lasting connections.
Ricky, with a significant presence on various social media platforms, emphasized the power of honesty. He highlighted that showing vulnerability and sharing real stories about his journey attracted a more engaged and loyal following. This authenticity, he believes, allows people to connect on a deeper level and creates lasting relationships.
Amy, who primarily focuses on Instagram, stressed the importance of targeting a specific audience. She advised agents to narrow their focus and talk to one person instead of trying to appeal to everyone. This approach has resulted in a higher return on investment for her. Being selective and specific in your messaging can help you connect with your ideal clients effectively.
Consistency was another common thread throughout the discussion. In the fast-paced world of social media, it's essential to maintain a steady presence. Ricky noted that consistent content creation, combined with a commitment to reinventing oneself, has been key to his success. He urged agents to keep refining their approach and continually improve their content.
In the face of an ever-changing real estate market, the panelists discussed their plans for the coming year. GoGo shared her intention to post more frequently, take a more proactive approach, and provide clear calls to action in her content. She advised agents to be more intentional about guiding their audience on what steps to take.
Amy will continue her strategy of targeting a specific audience on Instagram. She also recommended analyzing your insights and data regularly to understand what content is resonating with your audience and adjust your approach accordingly.
Ricky highlighted the importance of education in times of market uncertainty. He intends to continue providing accurate data and countering negative media narratives through his social media channels. This educational approach helps both consumers and real estate professionals make informed decisions.
Our discussion wouldn't be complete without some valuable insights on YouTube. Visual content, particularly thumbnails, was the focus. Ricky shared the significance of captivating thumbnails and their role in capturing the audience's attention. His advice was simple: "Every thumbnail should have fire." This isn’t literal, but it just shows how important it is to have visually stimulating thumbnails. There are thousands and thousands of videos out there so you’ll have to do your best to stand out from the crowd.
In the final moments of our discussion, we touched on the importance of agents embracing social media. Ricky highlighted the surprising statistic that only 10% of real estate agents actively use social media for marketing. The panelists encouraged everyone to overcome their hesitations and start creating content, even if it isn't perfect at first.
Remember, slow and steady wins the race, and consistency is your ally on this journey. So go ahead, step on the social media stage, and start making a lasting impact!
